KIDS GO FREE TO COUNTY, COURTESY OF THE VERNON!

12/09/2011

Community Partnership deal with County.

The Vernon has shown its commitment to Stockport County by renewing its school ticket initiative which means that every primary school child in Stockport will have the chance to see a match for free.

The game against Grimsby Town on Saturday 17th September was the first of 12 matches which will bring children to Edgeley Park to see their local team play from a specially created area called the Vernon Community Block.

The home games will target up to 10 local schools ensuring all children have the opportunity to receive 2 free tickets, one adult and one child.

Extra entertainment will be given on match days courtesy of Vernon Bear and each child attending will also receive a goodie bag. Extra tickets will also be available at a discounted rate.

Rob Clare, Commercial Manager at Stockport County expressed his support for the scheme, "The Vernon Building Society scheme is a great way for us to introduce families to real live football and in particular to their local football club. We're confident that families will have a great day out and will want to return to Edgeley Park to support their team in the long term.”
