Over 30,000 children won't receive Christmas presents this year. The Vernon gang recently spent their day volunteering and packing donated gifts with Mission Christmas.
Recently, some of our Vernon team volunteered to pack presents with Cash for Kids for their Mission Christmas appeal. Thousands of children are living in poverty and many wake up without presents to open on Christmas Day. Mission Christmas collects donated gifts from businesses and drop-off points across the country to give to these children so they can wake up to gifts from Santa.
One of our volunteers said:
"Volunteering with Mission Christmas felt very rewarding and made me realise the importance of donations, they really do help children living in poverty experience an exciting Christmas. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again next year."

Cash for Kids is a grant-giving charity helping the children that need it most across the UK. They aim to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people in local communities who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect, or have additional needs. Cash for Kids works with grass-roots organisations that aim to make a difference to young people's lives, directly supporting families who often have nowhere else to go.
Mission Christmas is an annual initiative organised by Cash for Kids to ensure every child wakes up to a gift on Christmas morning. Last year, Mission Christmas received 31,502 presents. More families than ever will be relying on the support of Mission Christmas to help bring excitement to children on Christmas Day, especially with the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. There are lots of ways to support Mission Christmas. You can donate gifts, make a donation to go towards presents, or even fundraise.
Here at the Vernon, we proudly support Cash for Kids and Mission Christmas. We have collection boxes in all of our branches and will be dropping all gifts off at the Mission Christmas warehouse to be distributed to the children who need them.
