Apprenticeships at the Vernon

As a forward-thinking organisation, we're passionate about supporting local, young people. That’s why we’re proud to offer apprenticeships that give colleagues the chance to learn, earn, and build a meaningful career.

From day one, our apprentices are valued members of the team. They'll gain hands-on experience, work towards recognised qualifications, and be supported every step of the way with training, mentoring, and real opportunities to progress.

Our Apprenticeship Programme

Young people bring energy, curiosity, and fresh perspectives - qualities that can truly shape the future of our Society. We believe their ideas and insights help us grow and improve, which is why we’re committed to supporting and investing in the next generation through our apprenticeship programme.

We currently have apprentices working in our IT Team, Marketing Team, Customer Services Team, and also within our high street branches. We look to add more opportunities wherever we can.

Colleague Spotlight

In 2020, Joe joined our finance team and has absorbed an incredible amount of knowledge in every possible area. From handling member payments and direct debits to taking on payroll, he’s become a vital part of the department. Joe passed his Level 3 qualification and is now studying towards his ICAEW accountancy qualification, sponsored by the Society.

Future Apprenticeship opportunities

Due to the ongoing success of our apprentices over the last couple of years, we are frequently looking to expand our team with new additions, as we believe in the power and importance of young people, and we will continue to support young professionals within the Vernon.
