This Christmas, let’s come together to spread joy and kindness across our community. We’re working with Chelwood Foodback Plus, for the second year in a row, collecting food, gifts, and toys to create festive hampers for local families who could use a little extra cheer - and we’d love your help.

Every donation, big or small, helps make someone’s Christmas feel special. From tasty treats to thoughtful presents for all ages, your generosity can light up someone’s holiday.

You can drop off your donations at our St Petersgate, Bramhall, Poynton, Marple or Hazel Grove branches - just check our branch finder to find your nearest one and opening times. Donations to our Reddish branch will be sent directly to Re:dish. And if you’re wondering what to give, we’ve put together a handy guide with ideas to make it easy.

What to donate

Suggested Christmas Food Items:

Not sure what to food to donate? Think festive, comforting, and classic. We're looking for those little seasonal touches that help make Christmas feel special - things like tubs of chocolates to share, a tin of biscuits for the family to enjoy, or a box of crackers to bring some sparkle to the dinner table. Christmas puddings, chutneys, and mince pies are also perfect additions.

Gift Donations for Children

Items like cosy socks, toiletries, pyjamas, and age-appropriate toys to help make Christmas morning special for as many children as possible. Gifts for all age groups are appreciated, so feel free to contribute whatever you can.

Gift Donations for Adults

We’re also supporting parents, carers, and individuals who may be going without this Christmas. Practical, general gifts such as toiletries, warm socks, and gift sets are ideal. These small gestures can bring comfort to someone who might otherwise receive nothing.

About Chelwood Foodbank Plus

Chelwood Foodbank Plus has been at the heart of the Stockport community since 2013, offering support to local people when they need it most. Whether it’s a family facing an unexpected crisis or someone struggling to make ends meet, Chelwood is there to help.

In the past 12 months alone, they’ve provided 2,960 food parcels, supporting 4,661 adults and 3,992 children across the borough.
