We're proud to be shortlisted for Medium Business of the Year at the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Excellence Awards 2026.
We’re delighted to share that we’ve been shortlisted for Medium Business of the Year at the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Excellence Awards 2026. It’s a fantastic recognition of the work we do for our members, colleagues and communities across Greater Manchester and Cheshire.
As a mutual, our focus is simple: helping people save, borrow and build stronger financial futures. In 2025, we delivered steady, sustainable growth while keeping personal service at the heart of everything. Our member feedback reflected this, scoring an average of 4.94 out of 5 stars with a 98.2% satisfaction score - showing how much members value being listened to and supported.
Our community impact continued to grow. Last year, 1,736 students received financial education through our partnership with WizeUp, colleagues volunteered more than a combined 100 days of their time, and over £37,000 was awarded to charities and grassroots groups through our Charitable Foundation and Community Stars programme. More than 900 people also used our free community meeting space at St Petersgate.
We’re equally proud of our colleagues. Fifteen percent are working towards professional qualifications, and in 2025 we were named Employer of the Year for both Stockport and the North West, alongside achieving accreditation from the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter. With recent investment in our branch network, our celebration of 40 years in Bramhall and plans to open our first community branch outside Stockport, we’re continuing to back local high streets and the people who rely on us.
The winners will be announced on 25th September, and we’re keeping everything crossed. Congratulations to all the other finalists - it’s inspiring to be recognised alongside so many organisations making a positive difference across Greater Manchester.
